Recruit with Us

UNC Charlotte’s University Career Center facilitates those connections with our students and alumni, to meet your hiring needs. Recruiting and branding opportunities will be available virtually or in person. Staff are available to discuss recruiting strategies to support your current and future needs; please email us at recruit@charlotte.edu and a member of our Employer Engagement team will follow up.

Meet Ups

These 30-45 minute sessions typically consist of 15-20 minutes of content, 10 minutes about your organization, and 10-15 minutes of Q+A. We offer two options: Industry/Employer-Led and Career. Meet-Ups are marketed to various groups of students to learn about your organization, industry, and the professional development topic on which you will be presenting. Our students indicate that meet ups done virtually, is their preferred format.

Industry/Employer-Led Meet Ups

Intended for employers to use the expertise within their organization to engage students in a conversation, which will aid them in their professional or career development.

  • Lead a professional development topic of your choice and brand your organization in one, 30-45 minute virtual session with a small group of students.
  • Industry-led Career Meet Ups take place Monday-Thursday at Noon.

Career Meet Ups

Designed by our Career Coaching team to aid students in their career and professional development around a variety of topics. Your organization has the opportunity to "take over" meet ups presenting on the specific topic being offered. Topics can be one of our general offerings or one associated with our various career community theme-weeks. Some Meet Ups are designed for specific audiences, while others are for general audiences.

On-Campus Recruiting

On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) is an effective way to create a strong presence on campus, while interviewing top UNC Charlotte talent. Our team can manage your schedule through a “preselect” scheduling option or you can manage your own schedule through a “room reservation only” scheduling option. To reserve your preferred date(s), please do so through your Hire-A-Niner account.

Recruiting Tables

A recruiting table is a great way to build your brand at UNC Charlotte, while you promote and recruit to fill opportunities at your organization. To reserve your preferred date(s), please do so through your Hire-A-Niner account.

Information Sessions

It is time to relate instead of recite. Maybe think about shelving the slide presentation and talk with the candidates about the essential skills you are looking for and those needed for success in your organization. This is a great format to engage with potential candidates in meaningful conversations about your open opportunities in Hire-A-Niner

Any of these are great starting points for your Information Session: Is there a current hire that can speak of their experience? What post-hire professional development can assist a candidate to grow in your organization? Is there software/technology associated with your current available opportunities? Where is your organization in relation to DEI initiatives?

To request an information session to talk with students, please do so through your Hire-A-Niner account. Select “Request New Recruiting Event” under “Quick Links” and choose “Information Session.”

Professional in Residence

Our Professionals in Residence program puts you directly in the Career Commons of the University Career Center where you will be our drop-in resume expert for the day. This allows our office to provide industry advice directly to students while allowing you the opportunity to brand for your organization or to give back to Niner Nation as an alum!

Job Postings

Attract applicants for your full time, experiential education, and part-time positions by posting in Hire-A-Niner. Micro-Internships

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte partners with Parker Dewey to provide an innovative way for employers to connect with our highly-motivated students and recent grads. Micro-Internships are short-term, paid professional projects designed to serve as a bridge to future employment opportunities. These short-term projects create equitable access to professional careers and are similar to those projects given to new hires or interns.

Whether you're in need of on-demand project support, looking for a win-win to connect with students from your alma mater, or looking for ways to get work done with an ever-growing to-do list, Micro-Internships are a valuable tool. Students from all majors can execute professional assignments to build and demonstrate skills while exploring a variety of career paths through micro-internships.

These projects enable our students to demonstrate skills, explore career paths, and build their networks as they seek the right full-time role. Unlike traditional internships, Micro-Internships can take place year-round, typically range from 5 to 40 hours of work, and are due between one week and one month after kick-off. A large percentage of the micro-internships are virtual.
