UNC Charlotte students - prepare for the fair by attending one of our quick sessions focused on resumes, selling your skills, working a career fair, and talking to employers. The series is the week of September 11th. View all of the details and RSVP for sessions in Hire-A-Niner (under Career Events).
Who may attend? Any job seeker may attend this event. The event is targeted at current college students and candidates with college degrees.
Do I need to register or RSVP? No, candidates do not need to register or RSVP for the fair in order to attend. UNC Charlotte students and alumni have the option to RSVP and indicate interested employers through Hire-A-Niner. There is no registration or RSVP available for other candidates.
What is the cost? There is no cost for candidates to attend the event. The University does charge for Visitor Parking on campus, and candidates are responsible for those fees.
Where do I park? Candidates who don't have a UNC Charlotte parking pass should park at a Visitor Parking deck/lot on campus (and will need to pay for visitor parking). The closest visitor parking to the event is in the Union Deck and East Parking Deck.
What organizations will be there? The employer list is online. It is updated in real-time as organizations register (and cancel); employers will continue to register until the week of the event. You can use the list to search for employers by name or use the Advanced Search for more options (including the ability to search by major).
What should I bring to the event? Candidates are encouraged to bring multiple copies of a professional resume. Optionally, candidates may bring business cards, a portfolio, and other materials. We will provide a table map to candidates at the event, but details about employers' recruiting needs are all online. There will not be a secured area for candidates to leave backpacks, bags, or briefcases.
What is the dress code? Candidates are required to dress professionally, based on employer request. While suits are encouraged, candidates can dress in business professional or business casual clothing. Casual clothing (including jeans, shorts, t-shirts, athletic wear, clubwear, clothing with potentially offensive symbols or writing, athletic shoes, flip-flops/casual sandals, tank tops, capris) and revealing clothing (very short skirts/dresses or very low-cut tops) are not permitted at this professional event. Professional dress includes collared shirts, dress pants/slacks, dresses, skirts, polo shirts, blazers, button-up shirts, blouses, and dress shoes. Accommodations are made for candidates whose religion or disability impacts clothing options.
How can I get additional help preparing for the event? We have online resources on dressing for success, resume writing, working a career fair, developing a pitch, and interviewing in our Career Guide. UNC Charlotte students and alumni can use the Career Center's services to prepare. Students and alumni from other colleges/universities are encouraged to contact their career center for assistance.
