Karen serves as an Assistant Director and Career Coach for the Social Impact, Education, and Nonprofit Career Community. She is committed to helping students and alumni develop professionally and assists them in their career development through one-on-one coaching appointments, group presentations, and career programming. Karen is the program manager of the University Career Center’s Summer Internship Scholarship program where she helps secure funding for students participating in unpaid internships. It is her hope that through this program, students can accept quality unpaid internships that will help them explore opportunities critical to their career success.

Additionally, Karen serves as the program manager for the University Career Center’s Professional Clothing Closet. This initiative creates an opportunity for students to access business attire for upcoming interviews, career fairs, networking events, and everyday professional wear. She is passionate about increasing student’s confidence levels and preparing them to become successful in their career development journey.

Karen received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Spanish along with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from UNC Charlotte. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, traveling, and trying new restaurants in the Charlotte area.
