The University Career Center (UCC) encourages employers to think of unique and exciting ways to engage students and build brand awareness on-campus. We are happy to work with you to maximize and customize your recruitment strategy.
Recruiting events are defined as any activity where company-specific information is presented/provided/shared including, but not limited to, details about company culture and opportunities. Events can include presentations, informational sessions, meetings, club events, networking events, and dinners. Events and programming to student clubs must be approved by the office. Companies may not require student attendance if it conflicts with class schedule. Presentations and events must be open to all students and alumni. All recruiting can be scheduled through your Hire-A-Niner account.
Students and Alumni: All current UNC Charlotte students (Full-time and Part-time) and Alumni may attend recruiting events.
Employers: Open to all employers registered in Hire-A-Niner interested in recruiting UNC Charlotte students and alumni.
Information sessions give employers the opportunity to promote their organization and provide current job or internship opportunities to students in an interactive setting. Information sessions are a great way for alumni employers to come back to campus and network with current students. Most information sessions are one hour long and consist of a company presentation detailing the values and mission of the company, recent projects, company culture and their hiring process followed by a Q&A and an opportunity for students/alumni to network with recruiters. Both “on-campus” and “virtual” information sessions are available.
Info sessions are offered every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during the recruiting season at 12:30 PM and 5:30 PM. Information Sessions can be scheduled through Hire-A-Niner.
The Mock Interview Program (MIP) is a wonderful way to build an organization's brand and demonstrate the company's investment in the professional development of UNC Charlotte students and alumni. Employers participating in the Mock Interview Program provide invaluable advice and insight to undergraduates and graduates on interview skills, while building relationships with possible future hires. While the focus is not an opportunity to hire for a specific position, employers may use the program as a pre-recruiting tool to generate interest in their organization with students across majors. Throughout their job search, students have often turned to their mock interview employer as a real, prospective employer.
Past employer partners have included: Google, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Wells Fargo, Autism Charlotte, Clark Nexsen, Rock Hill Police Department, Charlotte Agenda, Moses Cone Health System, The Schiele Museum of Natural History, KPMG, Seacrest Studios and many more!
Mock Interview Program
Employer Mock Interviews conducted on-campus and virtually:
The MIP Team will work with you to market your mock interviews with students who match criteria you set. Once those students have had time to sign up, the mock interviews are opened up to all students on campus to fill any remaining time-slots. Each time-slot is 30 minutes long. Normally, there are 20 minutes of interviewing and then 10 minutes for the employer to give feedback to the student. We have the capability to do this both on campus and virtually
Big Interview Custom Sets:
Do you have a competitive entry-level position or internship? Then this tool is perfect for you! A MIP Team Member will work with you to create a custom set of questions in our online mock interview practice tool, Big Interview. From here students can practice for your interview and even share their answers with you for review.

Recruiting tables are located in high-traffic areas on campus, such as the Student Union. A recruiting table allows employers to interact with students in an informal manner, to search for candidates, and/or promote their organization. Employers participating in this program will have a 6x3 table and table covering, and they are encouraged to bring a table or pop-up display, marketing materials, and promotional giveaways. Recruitment tables can be scheduled through Hire-A-Niner.
- The request will be submitted by the UCC Staff to our Reservations Department. The recommended days to recruit are Tuesday-Thursday, and to submit the request ASAP as the table availability will fill up quickly through the reservation system. We must have at least a week notice to request a date, and there is no guarantee a recruiting table can be obtained.
- Employers should provide a first and second choice of when they would like to recruit. This will allow our staff to process the request more quickly in the event first choice is not available.
- We require a 24 business hour notice to cancel a reservation. If not, the UCC can be denied the ability to book additional tables for employers during a given semester. Any “no show” for a request not canceled by an organization can incur a fee of $150, which is the booking rate for an organization not sponsored by a campus office.
