Sharon oversees career development programming and provides counseling/advising services for students in all phases of career decision making, career planning, career placement and career transition. She has designed and taught career development courses in the College of Education (UNC Greensboro), College of Arts and Sciences (UNC Charlotte) and University College (UNC Charlotte). She chairs the Career Development Team and oversees the Career Library.  Sharon is the designated liaison to the College of Health & Human Services, and she is also the liaison to the Office of Disability Services, University Center for Academic Excellence, Atkins Library, Center for Leadership Development, Multicultural Resource Center, and the Counseling Center.

Sharon holds a Master’s degree in Education with a specialization in Guidance and Counseling - College Student Development (UNC Greensboro), her undergraduate degree is in Speech and Theatre (NC A & T University), she is an alumna of the Charlotte Chamber’s Leadership School, and she recently completed the National Career Development Association’s Global Career Development Facilitator training. Her professional service includes serving as President of the Southern Association of Student Employment Administrators. Sharon has also served as an advisor for Campus Scouts, interviewer for the NC State Government Summer Internship Program, and Career Resources Reviewer for the Journal of Career Planning and Employment.  She enjoys creative writing, reading, and collecting a wide variety of books.
